Shopify Flow / Gift Card Pro Triggers and Actions

Gift Card Pro now integrates with Shopify Flow – providing merchants with Trigger and Actions to help automate their online business.

How Shopify Flow Works

Shopify Flow operates using a trigger-condition-action framework, enabling merchants to create custom workflows tailored to their business needs. Here’s a breakdown of the components:

  1. Triggers: Events that initiate a workflow. These can be internal Shopify events (e.g., “Order created,” “Inventory quantity changed”) or external events from connected apps.
    • Example: A customer places an order worth over $100.
  2. Conditions: Rules or filters that determine whether an action should proceed based on the trigger. Conditions check specific attributes (e.g., order value, customer location).
    • Example: If the order total is greater than $100 and the customer is in Canada.
  3. Actions: Tasks executed when conditions are met. Actions can modify store data (e.g., tagging a customer), send notifications (e.g., email, Slack message), or interact with third-party apps.
    • Example: Tag the customer as “VIP” and notify the team via Slack.

You can build these workflows using a visual, drag-and-drop interface in the Shopify admin under Apps > Flow. No coding is required, making it accessible to non-technical users.

Gift Card Pro Triggers and Actions

Gift Card Pro offers a Gift Card Purchased Action: This event is triggered whenever a Gift Card is purchased through Gift Card Pro.

Off of this Trigger, you can add any Condition / Action that you like. For instance, tag an Order with ‘Gift Card’ if that order contains a gift card purchase.

Gift Card Pro also offers two Actions:

Adjust Store Credit: Increase or decrease a customers store credit balance

Send Digital Gift Card: Issue a Gift Card via Gift Card Pro and deliver it to a recipient

So for instance, if you wanted to run a BOGO Campaign for Gift Cards you could send a $10 Gift Card to the purchaser every time they purchase a gift card for over $200.
