Gift Card Pro: Enhanced Payment Restrictions
Introduction
Gift Card Pro now leverages Shopify’s new Payment Customization Function API to provide enhanced control over gift card usage at checkout. These features empower merchants to define precise conditions for restricting gift card use, ensuring greater flexibility and alignment with store policies.
Key Restrictions
Cart Rules:
- Prevent Purchasing Gift Cards with Gift Cards: Automatically hide the gift card payment method when another gift card is in the cart.
- Minimum Cart Value: Require a specific cart value before the gift card payment option becomes available.
Customer Rules:
- Prevent Redemption Without Sign-In: Hide the gift card payment method for customers who are not logged into their accounts.
- Restrict Redemption for B2B Customers: Disable gift card usage for customers tagged as B2B.
Order Rules:
- Minimum Order Count: Set a minimum number of orders a customer must have placed before redeeming a gift card.
Location Rules:
- Disable for Specific Countries: Select countries where the gift card payment method will be unavailable at checkout.
Product Rules:
- Disable for Specific Products: Specify products for which the gift card payment method will be hidden at checkout.
Payment Method Restrictions:
- Restrict Other Payment Methods: Select additional payment methods to be hidden whenever a gift card is included in the cart.
Important Note:
Please note that payment customizations currently do not run on draft order checkouts, which get created for custom value gift cards.
How to Get Started:
- Visit the Gift Card Pro dashboard.
- Navigate to the Payment Customization section in the sidebar.
- Enable the Payment Customization feature.
- Configure each restriction setting according to your store’s requirements.
- Save your settings.
